For this project, I created a logo and identity for a UNESCO World Heritage site. The site that I chose was Kyoto, Japan. My goal during this project was to help tourists know where to find places within the city of Kyoto to learn about and visit. My main objective was to help tourists be able to navigate in the city and see all the historical and cultural attractions.
These were my concept sketches when coming up with designs for the logo.
Here were my design ideas when starting the logo.
I then revised the logo and added different colors with typographic tests.
Here is the final logo with the Pantone colors.
Next, I made a style guide for the logo.
Then I made a map of Kyoto, Japan for tourists to find their way around.
I also made a brochure with information for tourists to learn about the transportation and unique attractions.
These are the website designs I made for Kyoto.
Here is the logo on a mug.
Finally, I put it all together in a book. I chose to bind the book together using the Japanese Stab Binding method. On the last page in the book, I created a little pocket to put the map and brochure in.
